A hat, a brooch, a pterodactyl? What on earth is this?

One thing is certain, it’s part of Newcastle University’s Fine Art Degree Show 2013. Get set for wonderments.

This picture is actually the work of Sarah Illing one of Newcastle University’s graduating Fine Art students who’ll be exhibiting their stuff at this annual showcase which is the culmination of four year’s work on the university’s very highly regarded Fine Art course. The show is open to the general public and is the ideal chance to capture tomorrow’s budding Hockneys and Hepworths. Visitors can expect to see a truly divergent array of work spanning a range of mediums including drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, ceramics, audio/visual, photography, installation and performance. From the beautiful to the ugly, the engineered to the organic, get ready to experience a degree of real interest.
